My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Has Manga in the Works

A flyer passed out at Tokyo International Anime Fair on Thursday revealed that the My Little Pony ~Tomodachi wa Mahō~ (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic) television series has a manga in the works in Shogakugan's children's magazine Pucchigumi. Pucchigumi has been the home for manga from the Tamagotchi!, Barbie, Stitch!, Pretty Rhythm, Kirarin Revolution, and Jewelpet franchises.
The Japanese dub cast of Hasbro's show includes Miyuki Sawashiro (Twilight Sparkle), Suzuko Mimori (Pinkie Pie), Sora Tokui (Applejack), Izumi Kitta (Rainbow Dash), Mikoi Sasaki (Rarity), Emiri Katō (Fluttershy), Motoko Kumai (Spike), and Kikuko Inoue (Princess Celestia). Mimori is contributing the opening theme song "Mirai Start" (Future Start), while AKB48's sister idol group HKT48 is contributing "Kataomoi no Karaage (Amakuchi Hime)" as the ending theme.
My Little Pony ~Tomodachi wa Mahō~ will premiere in Japan next Tuesday.

Update: Bushiroad's representive told ANN that the manga's artist will be revealed later this spring.
